Sacadas

Here is a list of our classes which feature sacadas. Sacadas are displacements. They happen when one dance partner steps into the space just vacated by their dance partner. In tango, we use back, side, and forward sacadas.

  • Sacadas I: Forward Sacadas
A Sacada (displacement) is when one dancer steps into the space that their partner just vacated. In this class, we will look at Internal and External Forward Sacadas for both men and women. We will also look at the difference between Low and High Sacadas.
  • Sacadas II: Back Sacadas
A back sacada (displacement) is when one dancer steps backwards into the space that their partner just vacated.
  • Serpentina (Reverse Sacadas)
Serpentina means snake like, because it looks like two snakes intertwined.
  • Sacada with Change of Direction
